Saturday sewathon!

Look ma, I made a mini quilt!

I used this awesomely genius method by Oh Fransson on Sew Mama Sew of sewing the centre area- brilliant!

Then, I was determined to learn how to freemotion quilt. I watched a YouTube vid tute on the how-to's, convinced Norm to take me to the notions store to get a proper darning/freemotion foot for my machine, practiced a bit on scrap then went at it, pretty good for a first attempt I think!

And considering I didn't sleep very well last night either- idiot redneck neighbours were outside again til around midnight-ish last night- blathering away in their drunken stupor- they must think their fence is like an invisible sound barrier or something (it's more like an amphitheatre back there), but yeah- we can hear every single word they say. Or rather every single word they yell in between the myriad of swearing and cursing that pours from their potty mouths, ugh. So can the rest of the neighbourhood! Anyways, after that, I woke up at 4:30am to Bucky Mr.Senile yowling, then couldn't get back to sleep again so got up at 6. Yuck! Gone are the days of yore of sleeping til noon!

In the meantime while I was sewing, Norm figured out how to get the photos off our cell phone- easy? No! Not mac friendly whatsoever, had to be loaded thru the PC platform we run on his mac. Stupid phone. Anyway, here's a pic of one of the big ole' hills we tackle on our walks... you can see it winding back up after you go way down the road and a steep hill first- good workout!

I have a couple more pics to share but flickr isn't cooperating, I'll add 'em later...!
