I'm still here! What has happened this week...?
Monday we just relaxed around the house, yesterday we went to the States and shopped and went to Trader Joe's, I caught a cold- yahoo!- so today it's relax and knit day with a NeoCitran in hand. My Girl Friday sweater is making massive progress, I have just started sleeve #1!
Tomorrow is New Year's Eve, my parents are away on their amazing trip and will be waltzing in their fancy duds (they promised photos!) then off to an opera, but I'm sure Norm and I will be fast asleep by 10pm as usual. I know, yawn!
What are you doing New Year's Eve?
I think 2010 promises to be a much better year all around. What do you think?
You can see some of the things I knitted up for gifts here... some things didn't photograph very well, like a hat for my brother and a (still secret) gift for his girlfriend, but everybody loved everything so that was awesome!
Now, I can go back to knitting for me.... whew!
I hope you all had a nice relaxing and fun Christmas! Here's how it looked at our place yesterday morning...
Starr taking a breather in between shredding wrapping paper! Forget toys, gimme the paper!
We let her go at it and it was pure hilarity! We wrapped up some new stuffy doggy toys for her and she *knew* they were for her. She kept going to the Christmas tree and sniffing them. Then on Christmas morning we told her she could have them and she went right to one of them & grabbed it and started shredding the paper.
What!? There's still paper bits here and there despite our best efforts to find them all. Too much fun!! She's like our kid, we have to spoil her and include her in the fun and festivities, especially on Christmas!
Bucky got a special treat for dinner, he doesn't much like toys anymore, although he was enjoying playing with the paper a bit too.
Best Husband in the World got me a leopard Slanket!! LOVE!!
Starr and I had a lovely morning of slankety warm cuddles on the couch. I even did a bunch of knitting- this time for me.
He also got me my favorite parfum, Clinique Happy, in a set with lotion and bath gel- yum! I smell Happy! Yay! And 2 magazine subscriptions- Cloth Paper Scissors and Mary Jane's Farm. Hooray!!
For Norm I got him the Beatles stereo box set, a DOA calendar (with photos of the band and reminiscent of his punk rock days), It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Christmas special- OMG too hilarious!-, a Coronation Street Newton & Ridley tshirt, some Body Shop shave stuff that he loves, and the Diners Drive Ins and Dives book with recipes. (We actually got another one from my brother so maybe we can trade it for the other book in the same theme).
Then we went to my brother's place for dinner, visited with the fam, then came back home early to let Starry out as she had to stay home and had had lots of treats all day. She was crossing her legs- LOL!
And that was the day!
Hope you had a wonderful day whether you do Christmas or not. This coming week is chockablock full of paintings and more crafts and knitting. Can you believe a client actually sent me a project to do on Christmas Day? Um, no. You can wait. Even a designer needs a break here and there you know?
My parents are off later today to Europe on a dream vacation, hope you have a wonderful trip!
See y'all soon- back to Slanket town!
