Saturday and Sunday

Saturday, I did some knitting- well too much of it, this morning my aching hands and wrists are telling me to take a break or else. I added a new colour to the Ugly Betty blanket so had to see how it would work- I love it! And there’s lots of it to go around….

Later while we were out and about, I convinced Norm to stop at the little thrift store and I got a couple of scores including this sweet Bakeware little creamer!

I also talked to my best buddy Kim which has been a long time coming through rounds of telephone tag and the like, and it was so nice to hear from her and catch up and share stories. Gosh I miss her so much!

We gave Starry a bath in the afternoon, she was getting rather rank. Poor girl is suffering again with her itchy allergic arms again, but the bath helped a lot it seems.
She’s such a goofball! She loves to sit and look out the window and now barks at anything moving outside. Even a pop can (litterbug!) rolling by on the sidewalk.
This morning I took her for a very long walk in hopes of tiring her out but it seemed to energize her! She’s been zooming up and down the stairs, in and out, chasing the nephew and trying to steal his apple when he and his mama Wendy stopped by to see how things were going with the deck (see below!)

Today my brother Tom is here to do our deck addition with Norm. It will be so awesome to get it done. They bought the lumber and supplies yesterday and are out there now working- luckily the weather is cooperating!

My carnations from the best husband in the world are hanging on- I love carnations! So pretty and smell lovely! I changed their water, trimmed the ends and added some tulips to the mix- very springy! I might just keep adding to them as they need replacing.

My tulip bulbs are finally coming up in the yard and fingers crossed the damn squirrel bastards don’t kill them before they get a chance to bloom. One has already had the leaves ripped off- grrrrr. Anyways, hopefully I’ll have some of my own tulips to add in there soon!

And now I think I will paint and work on the Fire on the Mountain stitch painting. I have a few other projects I’ve been wanting to do so I’ll post pics as they happen- it’s power crafting day!

Long weekend Friday

I gave myself a long weekend. I finished my work before 11am today so that was that- alllll done ‘til Monday!

Today is lazy day, Starr and Norm have the right idea….

We went out for lunch, then groceries to make Chicken Wings + Blue Cheese Pizza for dinner- my specialty! I worked a bit on my big painting, it needs to be relocated so I can work on it without breaking my back bending over. Will figure that out tomorrow. Or Sunday. Or some time when I get fed up bending over to paint it.

Here is the Ugly Betty blanket as of this afternoon! I’ve added a scrap ball of Scout’s Swag Pink Punk.

I wasn’t sure overall how this blanket would turn out, I almost frogged it but I stuck with it and I really like how funky it’s coming out.
(BTW we’re having some formatting issues with el bloggo- Norm is working tirelessly on it to figure out why it suddenly went weird for no reason…. fixed soon….!)

And the first of my 5(7) Things made by Me on Facebook arrived today to it’s new home, to my friend Crissy, a sock monkey to add to her collection!

More surprises to come as they arrive to their destinations…. back to my blanket knitting…. new ball to be added very soon- that’s the exciting part….!
