Staycation and the trouble with top down

Look! I got my shadowbox all done! I’m super happy with how it turned out. (I wish I was a better photog so I could show it off better….)

I’ve got all my Red Rose figurines in there, and a bunch of little doodads I had stashed away in the depths of my treasure boxes. There’s still a few empty spots in need of little wee things to fill it up, I’m scouring the house for anything that might fit. Feeling the need to go thrifting to search for old little things…. kicking myself for getting rid of so many little things when we moved…. )

This afternoon was Starr’s first day of Intermediate puppy school. We were the only ones who turned up, there was supposed to be one more dog in the class but they didn’t show, so we got a private lesson. Starr was absolutely freaked out, shaking and cowering, not listening or doing anything she was supposed to do. Stuff she knows like the back of her paw, like “Sit” and “Down”, but no freakin’ way was she going to do it today. I told our instructor I am going to have to make videos of her doing the lessons at home so she can she she’s not usually such a quivering mass of scared jelly. The store is very loud, lots of people and pets around, so she was extremely distracted and scared despite our trying to cajole her along, she was having none of it. Poor girl. So, anyway, our instructor said the class may be cancelled as there are only 2 dogs in the class and they need more, store policy, to keep it going. I don’t think Starr will mind one bit. So we’ll see what happens if there’s a class next weekend or not. Starr has her paws crossed hoping there won’t be!

At any rate, we have her booked for a groom, haircut, bath combo on Wednesday so we have to go back to the scary puppy school place for that as it’s in the same store. Yikes!

I’ve been working on my February Lady Sweater and got rather carried away on the first sleeve. It’s worked top down, and I thought, wrongly, that where the sleeve started was the top of the shoulder but no, it’s a couple inches dropped down from the shoulder, even though I tried it on first to check, duh, so, instead of a 3/4 length sleeve like the pattern, it’s now a full length sleeve. I’m not ripping back, I’m just going with it. Seeing as our office where I’d wear it mostly  is always so freezing cold, perhaps it was meant to be that way anyway. I’m just finishing the cuff/band on that sleeve then on to the 2nd! Woo!

Day one staycation so far= very productive.

We’re still settling in, pardon our dust!
